What do I need to join the team?
- You need to be a registered full-time UL student.
- Be mindful there is a membership fee (mentioned below).
- Wear jeans or a pair of leggings/tights and closed-toe shoes.
- We provide, horses, helmets, boots, tack, and any information you may need.
What disciplines are offered?
- We offer English riding but are working on expanding our areas of expertise!
How much does it cost to be on the team?
- The yearly fee is $80 for Non-competing Members.
- The yearly fee is $150 for Competing Members. There is an additional payment of $45 to register with IHSA.
- Keep in mind that costs for uniform/lesson clothes will vary depending on the brand and quality.
How often do I need to lesson?
- Non-competing Members must take at least once lesson per month. Lessons are $45 per lesson. Competing Members must take at least 2 lessons a month. We highly encourage taking lessons as much as possible.
How do I become a Competing Member and what does it mean to be a CM?
-Competing Members pay a yearly membership fee of $150. Competing members MUST take their two free lessons a month. We suggest taking more for Competing Members. Competing Members will travel to shows and compete under the UL name.
Do I need my own horse?
- No. Horses are provided at all lessons, competitions, and team activities.
- But you are welcome to bring your own horse if you have one.
What level of riding do I need to be to join the team?
- The team is completely beginner friendly. You can join with zero riding experience. We teach you everything!
